On the 11/11/11 I celebrated my 30th birthday on the top of Africa’s Mt Kilimanjaro, my final continent in my working the world quest. This was the moment I had been working towards for nearly nine years since I boarded the plane as a 21 year old with the goal, to live and work in every continent of the world before 30.
What next for Hap Working the World?
I’m now back in my home continent with my new goal that is to inspire the youth. I will be utilising my passion of public speaking and sharing my working the world story to get the youth excited about living their 20′s.
I’m also writing my book, “Working the World”. This will be published by Australasia’s largest independent book publisher Allen and Unwin. Expect to see it on shelves October/November 2012.
I have also teamed up with award winning documentary maker Richard Sidey for an exciting project, Bikes For Africa. This is a two wheeled documentary about the shipping container of 400 donated bikes that Mandy Todd and I raised AUD$10,700 to send to Namibia. It will show our work with Bicycles for Humanity (Melbourne) and The Bicycling Empowerment Network, Namibia in setting the container up as a sustainable bike work shop and see how the donated bikes changed the lives of rural Namibians.
I would like to thank everybody that helped me along the way and made this dream come true. THANK YOU
